Portrait sessions can get as creative as you want. I've had clients take me on their boat during sunset, hiking to a mountain overlook, and even to mini golf! There are truly no limits. If you want something a little more simple, there is so much beauty in the simplicity of a wide open field or even an empty parking deck.
Whatever ideas you have floating in your head (or saved on your Pinterest board), I'm here to help plan the portrait session of your dreams. My goal is that you have fun, feel amazing, and have photos that beautifully document what your life looks like right now.
While weddings are typically so beautifully curated and exciting to photograph, portraits have my heart. You can book a portrait session for so many reasons- or none at all. My all time favorite portrait sessions are when past wedding clients invite me back to document the growth of their family- such a full circle moment!

I try to check the weather prior to your shoot so if the chances are high it's going to rain, we can get a head start on planning a rain date and reschedule. Sometimes I have clients travel from out of town, and that's not as easy! If that's the case, we can move forward if it's safe for us to do so and embrace the rain with clear umbrellas- or, we can do a location change that gives us coverage, whether it's indoors at a cute coffee shop or a pretty hotel lobby!
what do we do if it rains or if it looks like it might rain?
I am usually able to book sessions without much warning if you are willing to book a weekday! However, if you need a weekend day, I recommend reaching out a couple of months in advance, since weekends are typically booked with weddings! If you're unsure about it, just reach out anyway!
How far in advance should I book a portrait session?
Once your portrait session is booked with me, I send over an outfit guide with photo examples, tips, and inspiration, so I've got you covered! I am happy to help you pick between some options as well, either via text or email! I always recommend two outfits- one casual, and one a little more dressed up.
What should we wear?
You can rest assured that almost every image you see on this website is the work of someone who claims to be awkward. Myself included! It's pretty uncomfortable to be in front of the camera, but typically after the first 10 minutes, we're all able to loosen up and have a blast.
Kids just... don't sit still. But capturing them in their natural form as they are now is how you want to remember them. The least productive thing we can do is try to force fake smiles and stiff poses from them- I've got some tricks up my sleeve to produce beautiful authenticity.
We're awkard in photos and my kids never sit still.
Your portrait package comes with a downloadable online gallery and print release. In 2-3 weeks, I will deliver all the best photos from your session, edited and high res, available for download instantly from the gallery.
Within your gallery you can order professional, fine art prints as well. If you prefer to spend a little less for prints from your local drug store, you are more than welcome to do that, too! Just provide them with the print release included in your package.
