One thing I love about wedding photography is how my ‘office’ changes. One weekend I’m barefoot on a beach in South Carolina, and the next I’m in Roanoke, VA, running through downtown trying not to get run over for the perfect photo. Every wedding has a very similar to-do list, but despite all of that monotony they are all so unique!
Katy & Thomas’s wedding day was no exception. They kept it simple yet classy, and utilized the beauty of downtown to capture the vibe of their day. Their day started at The Hotel Roanoke, a few short blocks away from their venue. What a beautiful place to get ready! After a quick game of Never-Have-I-Ever, the girls were ready to hype up their bride as she got ready for the day. The enthusiasm in that room as I was taking her portraits was UNMATCHED.
Katy wanted to utilize the skywalk on the way to their downtown venue, the City Market, for a cute photo op. I do love a cute photo op. After some fun snaps of the girls and a little catwalk moment, it was time for the ceremony and to get this party startedddd!
You know what I’m a fan of? Quick ceremonies. They kept it sweet and to the point. Emphasis on sweet. They saved their first look for the aisle and it was everything. You know what a quick ceremony leaves time for? AMAZINGGGG portraits downtown and then hours and hours of dancing the night away! It was my kind of day it you couldn’t tell.
Congrats to Katy & Thomas on a perfect ceremony, a perfect reception, and the start of a perfect life together!
