The Yorktown Battlefields have always been one of my all time favorite places to shoot. I realize that to someone who isn’t from this area, that might sound strange! But for most of the year you can always find that tall grass that when the sun hits it, creates MAGIC. It’s just so perfect, despite the chiggers. But hey… there isn’t much I won’t do for a good photo. So when Kelsea & Adam asked for my opinion on a classic country location for their engagement session, Yorktown Battlefield was my number one top choice.
Kelsea and Adam have been such a blast to work with. From the time that she booked me I KNEW they were going to be an ideal #JamieDunnCouple!! I actually think that they booked the same day that they inquired, which has never happened to me before! When I met up with Kelsea after booking, we even planned to go line dancing! Of course, covid delayed those plans for the unforeseeable future. Seems like it’s going to be the trend for a while.
We planned their Yorktown session and rescheduled it so many times. It fell right in the middle of shutdown, but when we finally got to do it we had the most fun ever! They pulled off onto the side of the road wherever I asked them to. Immediately they would get out and dance and giggle and frolic. No hesitation! That’s the kind of trust and I-don’t-care attitude I love to see!
They’re getting married this fall at one of my favorite wedding venues, Jasmine Plantation, and I just know it’s going to be one that’ll be hard to forget! The love that they have for each other combined with their easy-going, free-spirited personalities is basically the recipe for an amazing day, and I really just can’t wait.
