Torrie & Erik took me a to a local spot for their engagement session that I had never been to, and it’s now a favorite of mine! I love it when that happens. I can sometimes get into a rut with the same old locations because I know them well and I know they’re gorgeous (hello, Yorktown Battlefields). It’s foolproof, and my clients can feel confident that I know all the good picture spots. But there is something so special about a client showing me a spot authentic to them. This one in particular was perfect for their romantic sunset engagement session.
Torrie & Erik grew up in the area and spend a lot of time walking their dog at Pleasure House Point. It’s nestled in a quiet neighborhood, and I only had to drive around the block three or four times to figure out where the heck the parking was. That’s pretty typical for me though, which is why I leave extra early for engagement sessions, LOL.
Torrie & Erik are high school sweethearts, just like Roman and I, so I felt a special connection to them! They also went to college together and coincidentally ended up just a few dorm rooms apart, allowing them to share a similar group of friends throughout college. I have a feeling that meeting their friends at their wedding is going to be such a special experience. It’s not often both sides are so intertwined.
It was a slow, romantic afternoon cuddling their sweet pup, Maya, chasing the sunset, and recreating high school photo gems. I had so much fun with them documenting their engagement!! Torrie & Erik- I cannot wait for your wedding!
