In April of 2019, Liz, Miranda, Ryleigh, and I drove three hours to Shenandoah National Park to hike Little Stony Man. We were taking this trek to do the very first elopement shoot I’ve ever done, and I was so pumped. As soon as Miranda reached out to me about going, I was 100% all in. She had models coming up just for the shoot, and they had their own dress and everything. I suggested ordering a handmade bouquet from the one and only Amy Marie Events, and the styled elopement was starting to come together!

A week before we planned to go, our chosen couple could no longer make the travel. This meant two very important pieces were missing: the dress, and the couple.

At the time, my brother and sister-in-law were staying with us, and were immediately down to fill in as our models. The only thing left to do was find a wedding dress appropriate to hike in! It turns out finding a flowy white dress isn’t difficult anymore thanks to Amazon! $25 later and a five minute conversation and we had our new models!

Cory and Rainy are the kind of couple that has no problem showing their affection for each other. In fact, they celebrate it. Rainy, a California-born hippy with hand tattoos and a golden tan, and Cory, a positive vibes, upbeat kinda guy. They were perfect for our vision. Honestly, an elopement was perfect for them.

So off we went, backpacks full of flowers and camera gear, up the mountain to Little Stony Man! Here’s the images that were created! For more sessions from this location, check out Lauren and Preston’s blog post, here! Lauren and Preston booked me after seeing these images, so they chose the same location for their engagement session!
