This one… this one gets me every time! It’s just one of those sessions that makes me feel like I could do this job until I can’t walk anymore. I had always wanted to do something creative like this, but ya know… had to wait for people with a boat to contact me. But Lindsey & Alex aren’t just the boating type… they’re adventurous souls altogether. These two do every water sport imaginable, snowboard, ski, and they’re workout partners too, which is obviously relationship goals.
Clearly we didn’t do this one in recent months, considering it’s mid-January and I’m just getting around to posting this. But does it not make you miss warm summer days out on the water?! My fam used to go out on the boat all the time. We’d just cruise at sunset, and that’s exactly what we did to get to our secluded beach for the first half of their session! I was so excited that we were invited to go out on their boat!
They showed us around local waterways and we chatted about their wedding plans- one contender being getting married on a barge in the middle of the river. Their guests would pull up by boat… how. awesome. is. that?! I love an original and personal idea, and that is one I have never heard before.
We pulled the boat up to the private beach, waded to the shore, and frolicked around like kids. On the cruise back home, we were able to take some super cool portraits on the boat while their dad took the wheel! Again- some of my favorite pictures from an engagement session ever! It was so them, and we truly could not have asked for a better day. I usually tell clients that gloomy days can make for a gorgeous, moody vibe for their session. This time though, I don’t think it would have been the same. We really needed that golden hour glow for the summer engagement session of their dreams! I mean, come on… the vibes, man!
Enjoy my favs from their session, which was pretty much all of them.
